    Default About Borderlands

    Borderlands

I came home one day, logged into steam to find myself very pleased, after seeing a gift from my good friend VanhA.. since then, we have played this game prob about 15 hours together in the wee hours of the morning

Anyway my view on this is as graphically, cartoon style (sublte, noticable and nice!) a game in what seems like post apocalyptal world. It is free roaming, similar in context to Grand theft auto. You collect items to keep you going from things you kill and also from vending machines. Main items being ammo, health and weapons.

The missions themselves, you can have a lot of them in your list. Its not brainracking. You get a mission and you get there soon enough, normally resulting in being attacked on route and some mad firefight to achieve the mission

You can select 4 different characters, I have chose Brick who's speciality is going berserk, which resembles looking from the tazmainian devil's eyes!

Weapons are mixed from an incendary sniper rifle to a pistol that fires bullets laced with acid. You also get mods to enhance your ability.

Certainly not a game for a kid due to the gore and languge. All in all, my verdict is 9/10. Playing on own gets a bit repetitive, however when two its becomes a pyschotic gore fest. A game of no planning, no humans against you, just AI. A very refreshing gaming experience and recommend this for your non arma time on PC.

I have tried this in single player due to the copy I have ... well...lets just say it doesnt work on multiplayer...

It is quite a bit of fun even though it does get repetitive as Psycho stated.

I may look into getting the game to try the multiplayer with you guys.

As stated, there is absolutly no planing/tactical/brain-crunching, this is just "FUCKEMUP" action :)

The multiplayer is good amongst friends but on public servers it's a mess.
Usually the host is just running ahead collecting all the valuables.
But as Ian said we've had loads of fun with it. The game cranks up the difficulty depending on number of players present.

Only downside is that one should keep the objectives balanced amongst players. If one goes too much ahead it will break things for those who have not reached the same storyline situations.

I have 2 charachters, the hunter is on level 53 and on playthrough 2 and then I have the Siren which I prefer.
I just finished playthrough 1 with it and it's on level 45.
After completion of everything on playthrough 1 you just quit the game and start it again choosing the same character. It then asks which one to load, playthrough 1 or playthrough 2.
Selecting "2" you start all over again from the beginning but you have all the goodies and health from round 1 and the enemies will be a helluva lot stronger.

Oh, Steam and retail versions don't like each others very much....

I was trying to kill the Crawmerax last night first on my own... Resulting in about 100 deaths and losing at least 50 million $
Sad thing is that I found a spot where I could pound it's front weak spots but not the one on it's back. So when emerging my lifespan was 1 second.
I then went online searching for a server who was on the task , found one... After ? hour following the punch of no-coop-what-so-ever group we finally reached the Crawmerax lair and the silly host did not have the task assigned yet so that was that...

I'll get you one day you big lobster!!

I wouldnt mind being the bait while you pound the crap out of it, my meat is kinda tough so it might take him long enough to chew on me for you to kill him, if not I will at least give him indigestion, of that I?m sure...LoL
